Dr Gerald Buller - Chief Executive Officer
Gerald graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Natural Philosophy from the University of Glasgow in 1986 and a PhD in physics from Heriot-Watt University in 1989. As well as being a highly experienced academic at Heriot-Watt University, Gerald co-founded TeraHertz Photonics Ltd. in 1998 and Helia Photonics Ltd. in September 2002.

Caspar Clark - Chief Technical Officer
Caspar has a BSc (Hons) in Physical Science for Microelectronics from The University of Paisley and is currently doing a PhD in physics at Heriot-Watt University. He has worked extensively in the field of optical thin films during positions in both the defence and telecommunications industries and has written several papers on specialist thin film topics. Caspar was a member of the Helia founding team in September 2002.

Nick Somerville - Chief Financial Officer
Nick was awarded the degree of Economics from Heriot-Watt University in 1993 and an MBA from the University of Edinburgh in 2000. He was been involved in the printing industry with Kroma Printing Ink until its sale to Sicpa. He is currently the Financial Director of Helia Photonics and has been a Director of the company since 2002.
